PHOTOS: Robert Pattinson Runs Away To Join The Circus

Robert Pattinson was snapped in Ventura County, California shooting his upcoming film Water For Elephants Thursday, and RadarOnline.com has the pics for you.

In the period piece, based on Sara Gruen's book, Pattinson sports a short, business-like hairdo we're not used to seeing from the usually-scruffy teen idol. He plays Jacob Jankowski, a veterinarian-in-training who joins up with the circus after the death of his parents. Other performers in the film are Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon and the venerable Hal Holbrook.
