So what does the 19th annual version of this bash have install?
"Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari is hosting the award ceremony, along with presenters including Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Cameron Diaz, Jonah Hill, Tom Cruise, Shaun White and Russell Brand.
The show will also feature other performances by Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and Christina Aguilera, and footage from the forthcoming "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
"The Hangover" leads the pack with six nominations, followed by "New Moon" and "Avatar" with five nods each.
