With Jaden Smith in the title role, The Karate Kid is scoring the box office upset of the year, RadarOnline.com can report.
The action flick produced by Jaden’s parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, took in an estimated $56 million at the box office this weekend. That’s easily $20 million more than predicted.
Jaden, 11, easily toppled The A-Team. Even with A-list stars Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel reviving the 1980s TV series, The A-Team could only pull in $27 million.
