When we saw the trailer for Get Him To The Greek, we wanted to see it only because it comes from the director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and producer of Knocked Up.

We loved those movies and knew this one would be hilarious.

Get Him To The Greek Premiere

All we knew about Russell Brand, one of the stars of the movie, was that he’s the lunatic who convinced singer Katy Perry to marry him.

Well that lunatic and those wacky producers and directors created a masterpiece that got this Sex And The City 2 loving reviewer laughing.

Russell plays British rocker Aldous Snow, who’s a drug addict that reeks of sex, and is about to embark on a comeback.

Gone are the days that leading men just have to be eye candy like Johnny Depp and Tom CruiseJonah Hill, an overweight comedy star, proves that he’s capable of carrying a movie.

MORE ON:
Jonah Hill

Hill plays Aaron Greenberg a record company intern who is assigned to the maniacal Aldous making sure that he gets from his native London to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles for his comeback concert.

The two are on this insane journey that rivals anything from the hit movie The Hangover. They navigate around smuggling drugs in London to fights in New York to sex with girls in Las Vegas.

You might vaguely remember the character Aldous Snow; he was a bit player in the hit movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This is sort of a sequel to that movie. Jason Segal, who acted in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is one of the writers for this film.

One of the most brilliant bits of casting was making Sean “P. Diddy” Combs the record executive, desperate for a great idea. He says brilliant lines like “I have six kids, do you know how many Air Jordan’s six black kids wear?”

There are some fun cameos from Christina Aguilera, Pink, Meredith Viera, Billy Bush and Mario Lopez.

Our recommendation: Get Him and Her to the Movie!
