Janine Lindemulder publicly thanked Sandra Bullock for looking after her daughter Sunny while she was incarcerated for tax evasion.

Speaking to RadarOnline.com after Commissioner Thomas Schulte green-lighted her on Thursday to see 7-year-old Sunny for the first time in four months Lindemulder said: “I’m still very grateful - she did a wonderful job and I will forever be in her debt.”

But despite this praise Lindemulder admits that she faces a difficult road as she tries to establish her custody rights over Sunny as she battles with former husband Jesse James in Orange County Family Court. She added: “I do not think it will be easy but we just have to put Sunny first – this decision today is huge I’ve been waiting for a while.”

Jesse and Janine married in 2002 and split in October 2003.  Lindemulder later served time in a federal prison on income tax charges, and was sent to a half-way house after her release.  She has wanted visitation with her daughter since leaving the half-way facility last month.

“The parties had difficult issues but they have always tried to work them out,” Commissioner   Schulte said about Thursday’s court action. “I don’t want to hold their feet to the fire.  I hope they put the child first.”
