Professionally, Tiger Woods made some improvement this weekend toward getting back  to the top of his game. But personally, it looks like he took a step backward.

Just months after promising he would never miss another one of his children’s birthdays, he did.

RadarOnline.com has now exclusively confirmed that Tiger was not with his daughter Sam on Friday June 18 when she turned 3. With Tiger playing in the U.S. Open it was possible that he was going to make arrangements for Sam to be flown to California.

But one source told RadarOnline.com exclusively: “It never happened. Instead, Elin had a birthday party for her at the house in Florida.”

In April, Tiger talked in a press conference about what he missed out on while in rehab after his secret cheating life was exposed. "Because of the time frame of it, I missed my son's first birthday and that hurts. That hurts a lot and I vowed I'd never miss another one after that. I can't go back to where I was,”  he said.

And yet Tiger missed Sam’s birthday we have now confirmed.

Talking about missing his son Charlie’s birthday, Tiger said in April: “It’s something I regret and probably will for the rest of my life.”

On Monday he was back playing dad in Florida, picking up Sam.

Tiger and his wife Elin are still living separately. She has very little to do with her husband and they barely speak.

They have managed to keep the children out of their personal war and there was speculation that one of the couple’s nannies would fly Sam to California. But that didn’t happen.
