EXCLUSIVE: Pauly D Should Win Hair Gel Not DJ Award, Say Other Top Record Spinners

Jersey Shore star Pauly D is being nominated for the 2010 America’s Best DJ Award, but his fellow DJs say his nomination has more to do with his TV fame than his skills, RadarOnline.com has learned.
DJ Z-TRIP, who won last year, has been blasting Pauly D in tweets.
“Being last years winner, I have 2 say, it's a bit of a knock 2 all the OG's 2 include Pauly D on Americas Best DJ 2010 ballot,” he tweets. “Just sayin it's America's BEST DJ, not America's NEWEST”
His rant continues with a joke about the MTV star’s gelled guido hair, “Now, if we are talking hair? Dude IS Americas best, hands down!... I can't even compete.”
Other DJs are also dissing the reality star. DJ Ernie’s blog called DJs Creating A Buzz writes “This is one of the many ways I know that DJing isn’t taken serious anymore. Shame on the organizers of this award for singlehanded (sic) making a joke and mockery of the entire DJ culture. No disrespect to DJ PAULY D and what he does but he isn’t on the same level of Z-TRIP, Craze, Q-BERT, Enferno or any of the other Top 100 DJs.”

The 30-year-old reality star is being booked for DJ jobs in every major city across the country and his agent Sal Bonaventura says his fans love his spinning.
“He has been well received and continues to draw huge numbers.” says Bonaventura. And although Pauly is being knocked for his lack of experience, he explains Pauly is not new to Djing.
“He has been a local DJ for 13 years. He has put in his time and he will continue to do what he enjoys most.”
