Britney Spears Conservatorship and Custody Issues Discussed In Top-Secret Meeting

Under discussion were the findings of a court-appointed custody evaluator appointed by Judge Goetz. The evaluator filed a 730 report, otherwise known as a child custody evaluation.

Goetz likely brought in a child custody expert because of Britney's mental health issues, sources tells RadarOnline.com. In California, an evaluation usually happens when there are concerns or unresolved issues surrounding a parent's mental health problems and parental skills that could have a negative impact on a child.

Although Britney and Kevin share time with their children approximately 50/50, Kevin still has sole custody of the children. That will not change while Britney remains under the umbrella of a conservatorship. Kevin is not opposed to shared custody once that happens, sources tell us.

In a legal document obtained by RadarOnline.com, it was revealed that Judge Goetz reviewed and discussed the report with the child custody expert, Britney's dad, and all the attorneys in a chambers meeting that lasted a little over 70 minutes on Thursday afternoon.

Judge Goetz ordered the expert to prepare a report quarterly for the conservatorship, with the first report due no later than September 30, 2010.

Is this a sign of an end in sight for the conservatorship? A source close to the situation tells us the it won't be ending by the end of summer. Our Spears family insider tells us, "This is a step in the process for Britney to go through before the conservatorship ends. Along with a psychological evaluation, and a child custody evaluation, among other things will be part of the evidence Judge Goetz looks at in determining when it will end."

With the next report by the child custody expert not due until early fall, Britney could remain under her father's control at least until then. The next scheduled status hearing for Spears is July 27, 2010.
