With the lead role in summer blockbuster Iron Man 2, it's clear Robert Downey Jr. is on top of the A-list, a far cry from his drug-addled days of the 1990s, when the actor made more appearances in front of a judge than on the red carpet.

When Leno asked him how often he attends his therapy sessions, Downey asked him if he was interested in attending.

"A lot of my instincts would like to run wild, as you recall, but I keep them in check," Downey said. "And by the way, therapy helps, you must get into therapy Jay!"

"We should go together!" Leno said.

Downey's Iron Man 2 co-star Mickey Rourke, whose own past demons have been well-documented, joked with Jimmy Kimmel earlier this week about the personal progress both actors have made since the 90s. He recalled a day both men were working out on the Iron Man 2 set, prior to an early morning shoot.
