This development comes as news to the head of the investigative team in Mexico who late Friday revealed they'd been unable to find Beresford-Redman for questioning. He'd been called their "only suspect" in the murder of his wife Monica at the resort where they were vacationing almost two months ago.

The TV producer had been involved in an affair that Monica knew about. She'd hoped the Mexican getaway would help heal their troubled marriage.

Bruce had been ordered to turn over his passport and remain in Mexico pending the investigation. It is unclear how he was able to return to the U.S.

The news will also be an unwelcome development for Monica's family. They strongly believe Bruce is responsible for Monica's death and have been fighting to win custody of the couple's children.
