Wheeler said Beresford-Redman told her that he's just waiting for the attention about his return to the United States to die down until he makes his statement.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Beresford-Redman remains the center of attention this week, returning to his Rancho Palos Verdes, California home for the first time since his wife Monica was killed under mysterious circumstances in Mexico last month.

Wheeler said he reunited with his daughter and sister once he was home.

“I went out to get my mail and when I walked out Bruce was walking out of the side of his house," Wheeler told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "We both looked at each other and he walked towards the gate," to talk to her, and he was holding his daughter Camila.

"Camila was squealing, she was just so happy," Wheeler said, adding that Beresford-Redman apologized to her for all the media attention.

Mexican state police have named Bruce, who has not been charged with a crime, as a person of interest in the ongoing murder investigation. Bruce's attorney in Mexico said that the producer left this weekend after growing impatient with the country's slow-moving legal system.

The parents-of-two had been staying at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun last month, when Monica was reported missing after allegedly not returning from a shopping trip; her body was found in a sewer at the resort April 8.
