EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: DJ AM Appears In 'Iron Man 2' – Mom Says 'He Was Loved By So Many People'

Tragic Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein’s mom Andrea Gross has told RadarOnline.com that she’s proud of her son’s appearance in the box-office smash Iron Man 2.
Popular Goldstein, who tragically died of a drugs overdose at his Manhattan apartment on August 28, 2009, has a cameo part playing himself in the Robert Downey Jr. blockbuster which has grossed a massive $133.6 million over the weekend.
In the scene movie-goers watch as he spins some records for Iron Man at a private party inside his fabulous cliff-top perched Malibu mansion.
Proud mom Andrea said: “Yes, I’m very proud of Adam as he was loved by so many people.
“Of course I had mixed emotions when I saw the film at the premiere but I’m delighted that it has done so well at the box-office.

“Adam was friendly with both Robert Downey Junior and Jon Favreau and they wanted to keep his part in the movie as a tribute to him.
“Robert in particular knew Adam personally and he wanted to make sure that he was honored and that was very special to me.
“I am sad but very proud because Adam accomplished a lot during his life and his appearance in Iron Man 2 will always be around as a tribute to him.
“I’m doing better than I was but I adored my son and really miss not being able to hug and kiss him.”
Goldstein’s memorial at The Hollywood Palladium was fashioned after a 12-step meeting, which was attended by both Robert Downey Jr. and Lindsay Lohan - whose substance abuse issues have been well-documented.
Attendees were free to participate in the 12-step process, and able to speak with anonymity, due to the nature of the meeting; the 36-year-old Goldstein, a recovering crack cocaine addict during his 20s, was working on a reality show to help others with their addictions before his Aug. 28 death in Manhattan, New York.
Goldstein allegedly relapsed into addiction, developing a severe anxiety medication habit after surviving a plane crash with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in South Carolina in Sept. 2008.
