The documents were filed as part of a custody battle taking place in Los Angeles court between the Burgos family and the Beresford-Redman’s. Carla is disputing that Monica updated her will in 2008 to exclude her and her sister Jeane from having custody over the children. Carla states “She (Monica) took boxes of what she considered to be all of her important documents and gave them to Jeane for safekeeping.” Carla said the box included Monica’s will dated 2004, not the will that Bruce provided the court.

Carla says the night before Monica left for her vacation in Cancun, “Bruce came to my house and began pounding on the door. He was in a rage. First, he asked my son Nicolas, ‘Where are the boxes?’ Apparently, Monica had told him that the boxes were at my house. Nicolas asked him ‘What boxes?’ I told Bruce that Monica took them. He became very angry and said, ‘No, she didn’t. ‘ He then turned around and slammed the door as he left. I had never seen Bruce so out of control since I have known him.”
