VIDEO: Tim Urban Rocks Judges World During Elvis-Themed American Idol

On an American Idol dedicated to the legendary Elvis, only one contestant “shook up” the judges: tween heartthrob Tim Urban.
After continuously serving up some notably lackluster performances (and falling into the bottom three), the Justin Bieber-coiffed pretty boy laid down an acoustic version of Can’t Help Falling In Love that soothed gaggles of girls in the Idol audience and had Simon Cowell singing praises. “You have managed to go from zero to hero in two weeks”, Cowell said. It was an impressive comeback for the youngster who was visibly shaken in consecutive weeks after receiving harsh feedback.

But Urban wasn’t the only one with a solid performance on Tuesday. Favorite Crystal Bowersox took to a bedazzled electric guitar for her rock infused-soul version of Saved, earning her a standing ovation from the crowd and Katie Stevens gave some never-before-seen sass with Baby What Do You Want Me To Do.
And after being saved by the judges last week, the brawny but cuddly Michael Lynche proved himself worthy of the second shot with a melodic set of ‘In The Ghetto’ that should keep him around after Wednesday’s eliminations.

But amidst the elimination pressure, some of the contestants buckled. Andrew Garcia delivered a boring one-note performance of Elvis’ hit ‘Ain’t Nothing But A Hounddog’ that may send him packing. Simon zeroed in on Siobhan Magnus’ performance of Suspicious Minds, decreeing it “terrible.”
Rounding off the nine finalists, Lee DeWyze and Casey Stevens gave safe performances that should see them through the double-elimination tomorrow night.
Adam Lambert, who gave tips to this week’s contestants, is set to sing on Wednesday's elimination show (Ryan Seacrest suggested he sing the hit, “What Do You Want From Me”).
