VIDEO: Sister Of Survivor Producer's Slain Wife Warned Her About Cancun Trip

The sister of Monica Beresford-Redman, the slain wife of reality TV producer Bruce Beresford-Redman, revealed on Monday that she warned Monica not to go to Cancun, Mexico, on a family vacation because Bruce "was not ready" to make the efforts necessary to save the couple's marriage.

"I told her it wasn't the right time, he wasn't ready for that, he wasn't ready to give my sister what she needed," Monica's sister Jeane said on The Today Show.

"They were having serious problems, and she was trying to save her marriage because her family was the most important thing for her."

Jeane said she told Monica that her husband was not committed to healing the marriage and Monica was better off using the time for herself.

The couple, who have two children, had been staying at the Moon Palace resort in Cancun when Monica was reported missing after allegedly not returning from a shopping trip. Her body was found on April 8 in a sewer at the resort, and investigators said she was was likely strangled.

Mexican state police said Bruce has been released from their custody, but is not allowed to leave the country due to the ongoing murder investigation, adding that upcoming forensic results will help them decide the next course of action in the case.

Monica was the owner of Zabumba Bar & Restaurant in Venice, California, a Brazilian eatery.
