Rocker Courtney Love said she auditioned for the Mickey Mouse Club as a child on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday.
Love, who looked fresh and relaxed, told Kimmel that at the time she was 10-years-old, she thought her name was weird — so she adopted the name, “Coco Rodriguez.”
She said that she traveled from Portland, Oregon to Seattle , Washington for the audition, and being ahead of her time, she read a poem by Sylvia Plath — about incest — to try and win a spot on the show. It didn’t work.

“I think it’s better you weren’t in the Mickey Mouse Club,” Kimmel joked. “I think it would have hurt your cred a little bit.” (While Courtney didn’t make the cut, big music stars such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera all got their show biz feet wet in mouse ears.)
Love also joked with Kimmel about how she was feeling no pain at the infamous Pamela Anderson roast a few years back, and said that the new incarnation of her band Hole features young, talented musicians in their early 20s.
