Courtney Love wants to once again be the girl with the most cake. After a failed solo album in 2004, Courtney returns as Hole, only without guitarist Eric Erlandson (who says “there is no Hole without me”) or any of the other former members, though there are tracks co-written by Billy Corgan. Hole’s fourth album—and first in 12 years—is called Nobody’s Daughter, presumably a nod to Love’s daughter with Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean, who left Courtney to go live with her grandmother, Wendy O’Connor, much to Courtney’s dismay. Of this sink-or-swim career moment, Courtney has said the album “can't fail because I love it, and I've worked really hard to make sure that I love it."
