Nancy Kerrigan's Brother Formally Indicted In Father's Death

Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan's brother Mark Kerrigan was formally indicted Thursday on charges of manslaughter, and assault and battery in connection with the January 23 death of his 70-year-old father Daniel, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Kerrigan, 45, is scheduled to be arraigned in Massachusetts' Woburn Superior Court on Friday at which time he is expected to enter a plea to the charges.
“We allege that the defendant’s violent reckless actions and complete disregard for his father’s safety and well-being endangered Daniel Kerrigan’s life and resulted in the substantial harm that led to his untimely death,” Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone told RadarOnline.com in a statement Thursday.
Mark Kerrigan had been bickering with his father in their kitchen and “pushing him back and forth” when he collapsed, according to a police report. Police said they had to subdue Mark with pepper spray, as he appeared to be intoxicated.

Mark Kerrigan told police that put he placed his “hands around his father’s neck” during the conflict and believed his father was “faking it” when he fell to the ground.
Leone said Mark “should have known that the cruel acts that he committed against his elderly father, including grabbing him by the neck with enough force to cause a fracture, were highly likely to result in substantial harm and endanger his father’s life."
Leone said that authorities subsequently determined that Daniel Kerrigan died from cardiac dysrhythmia, which was triggered during the confrontation with his son.
