Grandslam Getup: Yankees To Be Sporting DKNY

Baseball season kicked off on Monday, with a stylish announcement: DKNY Men is the proud new sponsor of the New York Yankees. The fashion megabrand, which is deeply rooted in NYC culture, has signed a long-term, multifaceted deal with the World Series champions.

Donna Karan created DKNY to capture the spirit of New York and the people who live here, including the most successful baseball team in history, the Yankees,” maintains Mark Weber, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Donna Karan International. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to celebrate the City that inspired our brand and this iconic team.”

The first signs of the brand’s presence in the legendary stadium, will be seen on April 13th, where a giant billboard of the DKNY logo will be hung above right-centerfield, featuring the skyline of the city  The company will also take over title sponsorship of the Dugout Lounge, the VIP area of Yankee Stadium, where guests will be able to dine in style, while watching the game on high-definition TVs, featuring DKNY footage, of course!  Furthermore, DKNY will work with the baseball team to develop cooperative partnership opportunities.

Will Derek Jeter and A-Rod be sporting new designer threads this baseball season, from the iconic NYC brand?  We will have to wait until opening day to find out!
