Talk about a Buzzkill.

Buzz Aldrin may have taken some huge leaps for mankind, but his small steps the past few weeks weren't enough to save him from elimination on Dancing With The Stars Tuesday night.

RadarOnline.com caught up with the moonwalker following his ouster, and asked him if he was surprised by any aspects of participating in ABC's hit ballroom competition.

"I try not to set a lot of expectations," Aldrin told us exclusively. "I know that things are gonna be new and different and I can't say that anything really surprised me."

The NASA legend, who was paired with Ashly Costa, said that learning the dance routines took discipline, timing, memory, inspiration and partnership.

Aldrin, who was in the bottom two with The Bachelor Jake Pavelka, gave an emotional statement following his ouster.

"I did this show for the fighter pilots out there, the military people and the elder geezers like me who would just like to see an elder come back week after week," Aldrin, 80, said following his elimination. "I'm also interested in having the public be thankful for the great successes that we had in the Apollo program and look forward to even greater successes in our future space program."
