Legendary actor John Forsythe has died in Santa Ynez, California after a one year battle with cancer, RadarOnline.com has learned.

He was a huge star in the 70s appearing as the voice of Charlie in Charlie’s Angels and in the 80s hit TV primetime soap Dynasty.

Forsythe won two Golden Globes portraying the stoic patriarch Blake Carrington on Dynasty. His co-star Joan Collins spoke through her spokesman Andrew Freedman saying to RadarOnline.com “He was one of the last of the true gentlemen of the acting profession. I enjoyed our 9 years of feuding, fussing and fighting as the Carringtons. And I was so glad to have had the chance to reunite with him a few years ago in the Dynasty Reunion. He will be greatly missed.”
Cheryl Ladd, who starred with Forsythe on Charlie’s Angels and was his neighbor, told RadarOnline.com, “I’m mourning with the rest of the world for the talented, gorgeous, funny, intelligent John Forsythe but my heart is broken for the loss of my dear, dear friend and neighbor. I will miss him terribly.
My husband and I send our warmest and deepest regards to his family and our cherished friend, his wife Nicole.”
His showbiz career spanned over sixty years. He had a personal interest in ecology and was the spokesperson of the World Wildlife Fund.
He was married three times. The family asks in lieu of flowers, his wife is asking for donations to the American Cancer Society. There will be no public service.
He died Thursday of complications from pneumonia. He was 92 years old.
