In one of the more touching and heartfelt moments of Friday night's telecast of the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards, legendary movie critic Roger Ebert was honored with a standing ovation.

Attending since he and wife Chaz are sponsors of the "Truer than Fiction Award," Ebert stood up as the celebrity-filled crowd got on their feet to pay their respects.

The 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards: Best And Worst Of The Red Carpet

Before the spotlight turned to Ebert's table, viewers were treated to a hilarious montage of some of his most scathing comments about his least favorite films over the years.

Even presenters Taraji P. Henson and Matt Dillon couldn't help taking advantage of the opportunity to say thank you for Ebert's seal of approval.

"You always had great things to say about me," Henson said. Dillon retorted: "Likewise."

Ohio boys Bill Ross and Turner Ross were this year's recipients of the Chaz and Roger Ebert Truer than Fiction Award for their film 45365.
