Melrose Place's Katie Cassidy, Michael Rady Speak Out Against Texting While Driving

We know that text messaging is here to stay, but it's also become clear that reading or responding to text messages while driving can have serious consequences; that led the cast of The CW’s Melrose Place to join AT&T in a new public service announcement to get out the message: “Txtng and Drivng … It Can Wait.”

The CW, working with AT&T, will spotlight the campaign on Tuesday's episode of Melrose Place, to be followed by a public service announcement featuring stars Katie Cassidy and Michael Rady.

The PSA, which will air immediately following Tuesday's show, and also be featured online at cwtv.com, directs viewers to visit AT&T's Facebook page to learn more about the dangers of texting while driving, and sign an online pledge to stop the dangerous activity.

“We are excited to be able to join with The CW’s Melrose Place to encourage viewers to stop texting while driving,” Chris Schembri, vice president of AT&T Media Services, told RadarOnline.com in a statement Monday. “While this campaign is important for all drivers, we’re particularly focused on reaching youth -- the core viewer of The CW and cwtv.com."
