John Travolta: 'Scientology Helps Me Cope With Jett’s Death.'

John Travolta has revealed how Scientology is helping him cope with the shock death of his teenage son Jett, who died from a seizure last year.

In Australia for the Formula One Grand Prix, Travolta said he and wife Kelly Preston had "leaned" on their controversial religion, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

"It's something that has been very difficult, but I am getting a lot of help in dealing with it," he said as he arrived in Melbourne, where he'll waive the checkered flag to start the race and present the trophy to the winner.

"My wife and I and my daughter - we're all dealing with it as well as can be expected. We lean on our church heavily and they have helped us a lot.

Jett, 16, died last year after complications with Kawasaki disease, a condition that strikes the lymph nodes, skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, nose and throat.

Travolta said the tragedy had helped him realize what was most important in life.

"I think you learn that the most important thing is your family and your responsibility towards them and others," he said.

"We're in this as a group and all these wonderful things that we share together are not as important if we don't take care of each other.
