EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Brittany Murphy's Husband Says Night Before She Died They Agreed To Have Children

Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack reveals that the couple discussed having children the night before the actress died and they even decided on baby names.
In an exclusive video interview with RadarOnline.com, Simon reminisced about their first date, gave insight into Brittany’s personality, and described how they spent their time together and their plans for children.
“It was not just a three and a half year relationship. It was a life adventure,” Simon told RadarOnline.com while playing Brittany’s favorite song Stormy Weather (Keeps Rainin’ All The Time) on the piano. Since her death, Monjack's grief has taken a physical toll on him, causing him to gain weight.

He recalled the early stages of their relationship: “Our first date was interesting. We went and had dinner and went and smoked a few cigars at a little place called Hudson Bar and Books and we never spent another night apart until three months ago.”
Sitting out on his back patio by the pool, Simon described Brittany to RadarOnline.com saying, “She was an incredibly intelligent girl. I think people had a real misconception about Brittany; that she was this bubbly, over-the-top, happy, on drugs person. I would actually be very worried if Brittany had taken drugs. I think she would’ve developed into this sort of masked cartoon character. She was so inquisitive of the world and of art and music."
Despite her upbeat person, Monjack revealed that Murphy had concerns regarding her career. “She knew her career wasn’t in the best place. She was ready to kind of be a mum and that was what a lot of the talk was about,” Simon continued. “We were discussing children the night before she passed. We were discussing baby names. A boy would have been Oliver and a girl would have been Sophie. That was the plan, to move to New York and to start a family.

“We just had so much fun it was just crazy. I’d be playing the piano and she’d be laying on the floor falling asleep,” Simon heartbreakingly recalled of his time with Brittany. “She would have a shower for example and call me in, and she’d drawn a big heart with the steam. Every holiday was a balloon festival, it was just crazy.”
Simon says one of their favorite ways to spend time together was for him to photograph her, as evidenced by the hundreds of photos seen by RadarOnline.com at their Hollywood Hills home.

As previously reported by RadarOnline.com, Monjack said he had initially wanted to keep Brittany on life support when she was brought to the hospital. “The Bible, the Torah, teaches you that your first responsibility in life is life,” Monjack told RadarOnline.com. “So, I could not justify not keeping her alive as long as I could...When the doctor asked told me she would be brain dead I just said, “Keep going. Keep going until there’s no hope.’”
