The steroid era nearly ruined professional baseball after teams and officials ignored the obvious signs for years.

And now a new drug scandal is engulfing the sport and RadarOnline.com has uncovered more evidence that the abuse of Adderall by major league players is the new steroid-era for the game, with players, teams and MLB officials one again trying to bury the obvious.

RadarOnline.com has examined a more than 3,000 page divorce file of former star player Jason Kendall and his wife Chantel and the file contains disturbing allegations that Jason’s use of Adderall, a psychostimulant, caused a rage that professional health care workers see as similar to steroid rage.

EXCLUSIVE: Drug Allegations Against Baseball Star In Divorce

And while Jason’s wife Chantel has had her share of problems, the bigger picture is that major league baseball’s new drug scandal has led to shocking allegations and was triggered by the banning of amphetamines, which led to players obtaining prescriptions for Adderall.

Chantell charges in her divorce file that Jason abuses Adderall and alcohol and that has resulted in physical violence toward her and fits or rage, some of which Jason admits to in the court papers.

The couple married on October 23, 2004 and have two children, Kuyper, 6 and Karoline, 3. Chantel also has two other children from her first marriage.

Chantel states in a declaration contained in the Los Angeles court file, "petitioner and I have shared a tumultuous relationship throughout our marriage. Petitioner has subjected me to years of mental, physical and verbal abuse throughout our marriage which has escalated significantly within the past nine months." Chantel asserts that, "petitioner has been taking the prescription Adderall, a psychostimulant and amphetamine since in or about 2005. My research indicates that Adderall, if unchecked, can cause fits of rage and instability, all behavior traits currently exhibited by the petitioner."

Chantel says that Jason told her he took Adderall because, "it is widespread in professional sports and major league baseball because of it's performance enhancing qualities. Petitioner has been prescribed Adderrall for Attention Deficit Disorder but I can attest that the amount of Adderall taken by him and his mood swings have escalated since he was originally prescribed such medication. I observed that Petitioner has become more violent and his behavior less predictable since he has begun taking Adderall."

Last season Jason was playing for the Milwaukee Brewers and while the team was playing in St. Louis, Jason reached a milestone in his career by having 2,000 hits. What should have been a time for celebration for the baseball slugger turned into a nightmare according to Chantel.

EXCLUSIVE: Adderall Is Baseball's New Drug Problem

Chantel says in court papers that she planned a surprise party for her husband for 300 friends and family that was scheduled to take place on May 28, 2009. On May 27th, after the Brewers had a day game, the family went bowling where Chantel says that Jason was "drinking an excessive amount of beer at the bowling alley and observed him become more and more agitated."

Chantel says that Jason wasn't only verbally abusive to her, but physically abusive as well. "Petitioner's abuse, name-calling and badgering escalated. Petitioner lunged towards me and knocked me in the face with the palm of his hand. The hit was so powerful that it knocked me back and split my lip open."

Chantel retreated to the guest room of their house once Jason was asleep and her cousin served as her security outside the door that night. Chantel says that when Jason woke up the next day the rage continued. The documents state, "petitioner subsequently returned to the  room carrying one of the sheet cakes I had ordered for his party that evening. He threw the cake at me causing it to fall over me and all over the floor. He then took the bat which he had hit his 2,000 ball and started hitting the cake with the bat. Petitioner then took a baseball and threw it as hard as he could directly at me. Fortunately the ball missed me and flew over my head into the wall. The ball was thrown with such force that it actually cracked the wall." Chantel says the party was canceled and that Jason caused over $10k damage to the house that day.

The couple separated and Chantel rented Goldie Hawn's house in Malibu last summer, the former couple owns a home in Pacific Palisades that is now for sale. The pair attempted a reconciliation in August 2009 while the Brewers were playing in Southern California. Jason allegedly went through Chantel's cell phone and became upset by its contents, according to Chantel, "He once again verbally attacked me, raised his hand in a threatening manner, causing me to fear for my safety....He looked as if he had been awake all night and had my cell phone in his hands. He often doesn't sleep at night because the Adderall has a stimulating effect,” Chantel said in court papers.

“On such occasions, I've witnessed that the following morning petitioner wakes up in a violent rage. The morning of August 6th Petitioner screamed uncontrollably at me regarding the text messages he had read on my phone. He left the Malibu residence and returned to Pacific Palisades. On or about August 6th, petitioner physically destroyed the majority of my personal possessions at our Pacific Palisades house....when I walked into our memorabilia room, all of Petitioners awards, trophies and posters had been destroyed, taken off the walls, broken and scattered around the room. One of the fireplace tools was sticking out of the wall......our bedroom was also destroyed. Every item of my clothing had been removed from my closet and was laying in a pile in the middle of the floor. My clothing smelled of urine and alcohol. Wine had been poured all over my clothing. Our toilets had been broken and the top portions of the toilets had been broken off at the bases and placed on my pillow.....Every item in my bathroom including jewelry, cosmetics and personal products had been taken out of my drawers and thrown in the bathtub with broken alcohol bottles and chewing tobacco. There was writing on my closet door with a substance that looked like lipstick stating "f**k you" and "thank your for taking care of us."

Jason admits in his declaration to taking his "frustration" out on Chantel's closet because of pictures and text messages he found in her cell phone, allegedly of her and another man.

Seam was with Chantel at court on Monday. Jason says in court papers, "I removed respondents clothes from her closet and threw them in a corner. I emptied respondents bottles of lotions and hair and beauty products all over her clothes and into the bathtub. I also poured tobacco juice over her clothes. I did spear a fireplace poker into the wall and remove lids from the $10,000 toilets respondents insisted on purchasing. However, contrary to respondents insinuations, I did not urinate, defecate, or put any other bodily fluids on her clothes and I did not put her fur coat in the toilet....I did use her lipstick to write on the wall, but I do not recall exactly what I wrote."

Chantel says that she has been to rehab in the past, she went to Promises, and that she now regularly attends AA meetings. The next hearing will be on March 18th, when the commissioner will be deciding whether the couple’s two children can go to Kansas City to visit their father.
