Andrew Koenig's politically-charged passion against the Chinese Communist Party and their support of the Southeast Asian of Myanmar (formerly Burma) landed him behind bars two years ago, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Koenig, in a demonstration posted on both MySpace and YouTube, was arrested on New Year's Day 2008 after he dashed in front of a Chinese-themed Rose Parade float (touting that year's Olympics) during the annual New Year's Day parade with a sign reading, "China: Free Burma."

“People wonder why someone would do such an obnoxious thing, but it’s the only way the news will pay attention,” Koenig told The Pasadena Star on January 1, 2008. "And until pressure is put on China to condemn what’s going on in Burma, things aren’t going to change."

EXCLUSIVE: Last Known Letter From Missing Growing Pains Star

The video posted on YouTube shows a wide view of the parade, as Koenig is seen walking backwards, facing the float prior to the police taking him into custody.

A Pasadena judge ruled that May that the eight hours Koenig spent in jail following the incident was sufficient punishment. Following his court appearance, Koenig told the paper "the whole point of this trial was to bring attention to what's going on in Burma. I'm going to continue working to help the Burmese -- just not by jumping in front of floats."

In the meantime, Koenig remained missing Thursday, as the last place he was spotted was a bakery in the Stanley Park area of Vancouver on February 14.

Koenig appeared in 27 episodes of Growing Pains as the character Richard "Boner" Stabone over five seasons in the late 1980s.
