The Jersey Shore cast crossed the Hudson river to appear on the Today Show Monday, and confirmed that the show has been renewed for a second season.

"We're all pretty excited about that," Sorrentino said; the man with the golden abs was joined on the panel by castmates Nicole Polizzi, Paul DelVecchio, Jenni Farley, Vinny Guadagnino and Sammi Giancola.

They said, "generally speaking," that they had received the reported raises they had requested (from $200 an episode to $10,000) from MTV, and that filming will begin in a few weeks in a different location -- "somewhere warm," according to Farley.

The group said the show is 100 percent reality TV, as no one in the cast acts differently when the red light is off.

"Whatever you see on TV is what you get," Sorrentino said. "I don't think it's a secret that young people like to go out and have fun."

Despite criticism from Italian-American groups and loss of sponsors such as Domino's and Dell, the controversial reality hit surged in popularity, as plenty of dust-ups, hook-ups and break-ups fueled each episode. The show's season finale brought 4.8 million viewers to MTV, more than three times the ratings of its' season premiere.
