Garrett, 48, wasn’t able to make bail until early Wednesday -- and was released at 1:34 a.m. today.

Garrett's been busted on the Metro Red Line before. In 2006, the former idol was stopped for riding without a ticket, but authorities then found  heroin and Quaaludes on him. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Garrett is expected to appear in court on February 24.

He is perhaps best known for appearing in the 70s drama Family, and for a recording career that included a remake of Run Around Sue and I Was Made For Dancing.
