The stars were shining and love was in the air Monday night at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood at the world premiere of Dear John, starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. RadarOnline.com caught up with those walking the red carpet to find out if love letters are still written, or if it’s just something you only see in the movies.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Channing Tatum’s “Man-Crush”

“A write them a lot to be totally honest,” Channing told RadarOnline.com of love letters. “I just write little notes and put them all around the house. They’re maybe not letters but they’re little notes.” Channing married Step Up starlet Jenna Dewan in July of 2009 but said he doesn’t have anything special planned for their first Valentine’s Day together. “I just want to sit and actually have time with her,” he said. “That would be the best gift of all.”

While Amanda plays an idealistic college student that exchanges hundreds of letters with her overseas boyfriend in the film, it seems that isn’t the case in her real life. “Three years ago,” Amanda told RadarOnline.com was the last time she’d received a love letter!

“It’s been way too long,” actress Leslea Fisher told RadarOnline.com of the last time she’d been written a letter. “I don’t think guys write love letters anymore.”  But who better to prove her wrong than the king of romance himself, The Notebook and Dear John author Nicholas Sparks. “I am working on it as of now for Valentine’s Day for my wife,” Nicholas told RadarOnline.com. “I don’t just write a letter, they take me many days to write because you want them to save it forever.”

To Save A Life star Deja Kreutzberg told RadarOnline.com, “It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a love letter. I think it hasn’t been since high school.” In an open plea Deja begs, “All you guys out there, I need a love letter!”

In some cases, love letters take form in a song. Keith Robinson plays Captain Stone in Dear John said of his last love letter, “I write songs all the time, so maybe last week. I gave it to a girl and told her that I wrote it about her.”

Dear John opens nationwide on February 5 – just in time for Valentine’s Day!
