Jaycee is no stranger to chronicling her life. On Thursday, the world was riveted by excerpts released in court documents from the diary she kept during the eighteen years she was held captive by Phillip and Nancy Garrido.

The Danville church – which has a 2500 strong congregation - has paid Dugard’s rent for the past four months and is actively trying to raise more money for the family who are living at a safe, private and rural location not that far from where she was held captive in Antioch. The church also helps in the family in smaller ways.  “Several months ago some jewelry was left in the church and after it wasn’t claimed at the police station the church decided to donate it to Jaycee and her family," Larson added. “When it came to light that they were having financial difficulties, our main pastors Cliff and Mari Hanes asked the congregation to start donating jewelry and other items and it has just snowballed from there."

Larson thinks the book project will help Jaycee heal. “I think that ultimately writing a book about her experience will be good for Jaycee because she has been put through a terrible ordeal."
