CNN's Anderson Cooper Being Sued

A 29-year-old interior designer is suing CNN anchor Anderson Cooper after she fell through a hole during the conversion of his $4.3 million New York City firehouse.

In a lawsuit, filed in November in state Supreme Court in Manhattan, Killan O'Brien, of Brooklyn, alleges that she fell "through an uncovered and unguarded floor opening approximately seventeen (17) feet to the floor below".

O'Brien states in the suit she, "has suffered severe and permanent personal injuries to her body" after the incident on September 22.

She is seeking unspecified damages.

"She's lucky she's alive," her lawyer Neil Greenberg said.

Cooper has declined to comment.

Cooper bought the firehouse in September from the New York Board of Fire Underwriters for $4.3 million. It was built in 1906. It was the former home of a unit of the Fire Patrol, a private firefighting organization backed by the insurance industry.
