Chynna Phillips seemed to have it all with a handsome husband, a beautiful Santa Barbara home and three healthy kids, but her surprising admittance to rehab for anxiety raised questions about what went wrong for the gorgeous singer.

A hint to Chynna’s emotional state might be found within the lyrics from her song One Reason from the same self-titled 2009 album with musical partner Vaughan Penn. Her explanation of the single sheds further light on what was happening behind the façade of perfection.
Chynna Phillips Checks Into Rehab For "Anxiety"
It’s a struggle to keep up the flow/All caught up in the worry when we just need to let it go,” the song says in the first stanza.
Phillips gave revealing insight into the inspiration behind those words.
“One night, I was praying in a house on top of a mountain, and it was snowing,” she explained. “With plenty of money, the house, kids, my husband's career in acting and my career in singing, I had nothing to complain about. But I was just feeling empty.”
Chynna believed she had found the remedy to her unease was her religious faith.
“So I cried out to God. I got on my knees and I said, "OK, whoever You are, wherever You are, I need You to reveal Yourself to me because I'm ready to commit my entire life to serving You. Women can easily lose sight of their relationship with God because of the demands of life. But if we don't take the time to nurture our own relationship with God, then the house of cards will fall.
“I want to be able to help moms prioritize and put Jesus first -- before their husbands, before their kids. Jesus first. He's got to be the one running the household.”

Given her current state of affairs, Chynna’s lyrics may have been a clue to her personal struggle.
