Charlie Sheen Domestic Violence Case Stirs Controversy Over Taxpayer's Dollars Used For Prosecution

The prosecution of Charlie Sheen on domestic violence charges has stirred controversy in Colorado, with some locals claiming it’s a waste of taxpayer’s money.

That’s caused the court advocate of Colorado’s battered women and sexual assault group Response to make a public stand about the Sheen case and its importance, ramping up the level of controversy that spread from Aspen to Los Angeles and beyond.

Response’s Jill Gruenberg wrote a letter that appears in Tuesday's Aspen Times newspaper defending the need to prosecute Sheen and other similar domestic abuse cases.

Gruenberg, whose Response group counseled Mueller following her alleged Christmas Day assault penned the letter after some locals questioned the validity of the Sheen/Mueller case by comparing it to other less prominent local ones.

Gruenberg told RadarOnline.com Online.com: “I don’t want to talk about specific cases but I defend my letter to the newspaper if you read it you will understand why I wrote it.”
