Six years ago, Clinton underwent a quadruple heart bypass surgery at the same hospital.

The procedure Clinton underwent Thursday involved a pair of stents placed inside his artery, Schwartz said, after tests revealed one of Clinton's bypasses was completely blocked.

Clinton, who served as U.S. president from 1993 until 2001, was reportedly suffering from a cold and was fatigued after his recent trip to Haiti.
