VIDEO: John Travolta Lands Aircraft In Haiti; Brings Supplies And Scientology

John Travolta, with wife Kelly Preston at his side, personally landed a Boeing 707 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on Tuesday, as the A-lister and experienced pilot brought much needed relief supplies to help the people of the poor Caribbean country who were left devastated by a deadly 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck exactly two weeks ago -- on January 12th.

Travolta, clad in a black baseball cap and jeans, waved to photographers as he stepped off the aircraft, which was armed with four tons of medical supplies, ready-to-eat military meals and a group of doctors and ministers from the Church of Scientology.

They will join other members of the church who arrived in Haiti last week to  offer touch therapy to badly injured earthquake survivors at the General Hospital in Port-au-Prince.

Upon landing at the airport in Haiti’s capital,  Travolta – himself a member of the Church of Scientology -- told reporters:  “We have the ability to actually help make a difference in the situation in Haiti, and I just can’t see not using this plane to help.”

He shook hands with authorities and officials waiting for him as he arrived on the flight, which originated in Tampa, Florida.

The Old Dogs star has publicly thanked Qantas Airlines and company head Alan Joyce for their helping hand in the rebuilding efforts.

The Hollywood community has pitched in considerably already, raising an amazing $58 million in last Friday's telethon. Sadly, the death toll in Haiti has eclipsed more than 150,000 people in the Port-au-Prince area alone.

Officials say the actual death toll throughout Haiti may never be known.

Travolta's next film, From Paris with Love, hits theaters February 5.
