Conan O'Brien's time as host of The Tonight Show is almost up, and he wasn't shy about talking about it on The Tonight Show Monday night, in what's likely to be one of his final broadcasts at the Peacock Network.

He said he needed his audience to write him a letter of recommendation, then said, "A lot of papers are reporting that I am now legally prohibited from saying anything negative about NBC. So good night ladies and gentlemen, it's been a great show.

"It's been widely reported that I can't say anything negative about the network; luckily, they're not saying I can't sing anything negative about the network," Conan said, before slipping into a Star Wars-theme parody calling the NBC brass “morons.”

Conan kept it going, joking that "NBC has a new slogan and the slogan is ‘More Colorful.' They may be telling the truth because they are about to get rid of the whitest guy on television. Of course, this has been a stunning couple of days for me. It's a bit hard to accept that soon I won't have a show, but Snooki and The Situation will."

And if there was any doubt what animosity Conan harbors toward network officials over his abbreviated run as the Tonight Show host, it was evident with this bathroom joke: "Last night at the Golden Globes Julia Roberts said that NBC was in the toilet -- NBC was upset and toilets were furious."

O'Brien's settlement with NBC, tentatively in the works, is rumored to be for about $50 million, including severance packages for his staffers; it would enable the red-headed comedian to seek employment elsewhere as early as this fall.
