After 32 years after his sex case began, Roman Polanski has been ordered to return to the United States for sentencing.
The director fled the country in 1978 after pleading guilty to having unlawful sex with an under-age girl. He was arrested in September after attempting to enter Switzerland where he has since been held under house arrest.
Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza said his ruling was “in defense of the integrity of the justice system, he needs to surrender,” according to the Associated Press.
Polanski had previously requested that he be sentenced in absentia.
