VIDEO: Nancy Kerrigan's Brother Arrested In Connection With Father's Death

UPDATE: Mark Kerrigan pleaded not guilty Monday to charges related to his father’s death. Bail was set at $10,000.

Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan's brother Mark Kerrigan is charged with one count of assault and battery with serious bodily injury in connection with the Sunday morning death in Stoneham, Massachusetts of the family’s 70-year-old father, Daniel.

Mark, 45, had been arguing with his father in the kitchen area of the home and “pushing him back and forth” when he collapsed, according to the Boston Herald, quoting a five-page police report of the incident. Police said they had to subdue him -- as he appeared to be intoxicated -- with pepper spray.

Mark told police, according to the report, that put he placed his “hands around his father’s neck,” during the conflict, and believed his father was “faking it” when he fell to the ground.

He was booked into custody at 4 p.m. EST Sunday, My Fox Boston reported.

Daniel Kerrigan’s widow, Brenda, told the paper her husband died of a "massive heart attack."

“This is a very difficult time for me," she said, before her son’s arrest had been made public. "He had a heart attack. That’s what it was.”

Mark Kerrigan is in police custody; he’s appearing  in Woburn Court Monday morning in Woburn, Massachusetts to face the charge; Daniel Kerrigan's funeral is slated for Thursday.
