Jersey Shore Kids Want $10K Each Per Episode

MTV has a breakout hit on its hands with Jersey Shore, and the young stars of the reality show know: the cast -- composed of Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "J-Woww" Farley, Ronnie Magro and Vinny Guadagnino -- are looking for considerable raises after earning a few hundred dollars an episode in its first season.
"They want $10,000 an episode, arguing that the stars from The Hills get $100,000 per episode and that show doesn't even rate as high," an insider told the NY Post. "They're hanging together like the cast of Friends and saying if they don't all get the pay increase, none of them will return."

The show's season finale last week brought 4.8 million viewers to MTV, more than three times the numbers the show's season premiere garnered.
Despite criticism from Italian-American groups, the controversial MTV hit surged in popularity, as plenty of dust-ups, hook-ups and break-ups fueled each episode.
