Jason Derulo's star continues to rise, as the 20-year-old R&B breakout singer-- and RadarOnline.com blogger -- was honored at Wednesday's E-World Music Awards in Los Angeles, taking home the Future Icon award.

"I've been working towards this my whole life," Derulo told RadarOnline.com reporter Allison Swan exclusively. "So to finally see everything come to fruition in such an amazing way is incredible, and to be awarded with such an incredible award is like, Wow!"

Derulo, a breakout success on the strength of his chart-topping single, Whatcha Say, told us he was pleasantly surprised by the audience reaction he received after joining Lady GaGa's tour.

"I heard horror stories before I got on the tour, people booing and actually chanting Lady GaGa during the set, but it wasn't like that for me at all," he said.
