EXCLUSIVE: Gary Coleman Has Still Not Thanked Man Who Bailed Him Out Of Jail

It’s a case of what you’re not talkin’ about, Gary!

After bailing the troubled Diff’rent Stokes star out of a Utah jail earlier this week, local businessman and long-time fan Jarrod Clarke was promised a thank you call - but as he reveals to RadarOnline.com - so far the phone has been silent.

“No, he hasn’t tried to call me, which is a bit disappointing,” Clarke told RadarOnline.com.

“I’d love to hear from Gary. It could be a good opportunity for him to get some positive publicity, but as yet, I haven’t heard from him.”

As RadarOnline.com exclusively revealed Clarke posted the $1,725 bail to secure Coleman’s release from jail on Monday. At the time, Coleman’s father-in-law, who was at the jail to pick him up, told Clarke that Coleman would be quick to thank him.

Insisting he was not expecting Coleman to pay him back, Clarke explained his act of charity, telling RadarOnline.com, “I felt bad for the guy. I grew up watching him and I know he has had a hard life. To see that sad mug shot, for only $1700, I thought it was the least I could do.”

Santaquin police arrested Coleman, 41, on Sunday after receiving reports of a "civil disturbance" at his home. Once there, police found Coleman had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

In an exclusive interview outside the jail Coleman, slumped and frail looking in a wheelchair, told RadarOnline.com that he had missed a court date because he’d been in the hospital getting some “minor surgery”, although he didn’t want to say what sort as he thought it might prevent him from getting acting work. RadarOnline.com has learned that Coleman had heart surgery. His father-in-law also revealed that Coleman currently undergoes dialysis three times a week for a pre-existing medical condition the actor has had since birth.

While Coleman stays silent on those who helped him, others are looking to cash in on the actor’s notoriety.

The Utah Grizzlies, who play in the East Coast Hockey League, have invited Coleman to drop the puck prior to Monday’s game against Las Vegas.

The franchise has contacted Coleman’s agent and attorney, but as yet, they have not responded.

“Gary has struggled a bit since his move to Utah, but we'd like to take this opportunity to introduce him to Grizzlies hockey,” said the team’s Adrian Denny.

“We'd like to show him a great night of hockey entertainment and take that opportunity to wish him all the best.”
