Conan O'Brien "Would Be Happier Somewhere Else"

It’s no joke -- funnyman Conan O’Brien could leave NBC in wake of the Peacock Network’s colossal disaster involving The Jay Leno Show.

A source told the NY Post on Monday that O’Brien "would be happier somewhere else" after NBC officially cancelled Leno's ill-fated variety show Sunday, and announced that next month it will install Leno back in the 11:35 p.m. EST slot, but will trim the show to 35 minutes. NBC’s plan would have O’Brien still hosting The Tonight Show, but its start would be pushed to 12:05 a.m. EST, after Leno.

Jimmy Fallon’s talk show would start even later -- at 1:05 a.m. EST!

The last Jay Leno Show at 10 p.m. EST would be on February 12 when that time slot is taken over by the start of the Winter Olympics.

"He's done a great job for NBC," the source told the Post. "He moved his entire staff, he moved his family to LA. And five months later, they repay him like this?"

Fox looks to be a prime destination for O' Brien, who, according to The Wall Street Journal, has talked to O'Brien about developing a show for him there.

All was mum from Conan's camp Sunday, according to his rep Leslee Dart, who told the paper: "Conan has made no decisions yet."
