Conan O'Brien was right that “amazing things will happen,” albeit it too little, too late for the ex-host of The Tonight Show, whose final broadcast last Friday drew 10.3 million viewers to their TV sets, making the comedian's final night in his dream job his best, ratings-wise.

The 10.3 million viewers trumped his previous high of 9.2 million for his June 1 premiere, according to Nielsen, adding that his average viewership for the week was a robust 5.3 million viewers, trumping competitor David Letterman's 3.9 million for the week.

O'Brien has not spoken publicly since his final episode hosting the Tonight Show, in which he told viewers "Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get, but if you work really hard, and you're kind, amazing things will happen. I'm telling you, amazing things will happen."

We expect more amazing things from Conan at some point.
