Dec. 29 2009, Published 10:07 a.m. ET
Saying “Charlie’s a nice guy,” and calling the entire situation “sad”, funnyman Tom Arnold turned reflective and even somber while talking about Sheen’s Christmas day arrest for allegedly threatening his wife Brooke Mueller with a knife at their rented home in Aspen, Colorado.
Arnold spoke out Monday night after leaving the trendy restaurant Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. Arnold says he and Sheen used to be neighbors, and that he called Charlie after the story broke to offer him support.

Said Arnold: “ I feel bad for both of them. They were my neighbors. They’re nice. It’s hard to work things out. I think I know from experience. It’s hard to work things out publicly. He’s got people helping him, and hopefully she has people helping her. They have kids, right? They’ve got to make it work.”
