Pro golfer Helen Alfredsson has become the first Tiger Woods’ colleague to admit his infidelity was not a secret among his peers.

While most of the world was stunned when the parade of Tiger Woods’ mistresses first surfaced, it was old news to Alfredsson, the Swedish pro.

“I heard it last summer during the British Open," Helen Alfredsson told TV4. And then using a metaphor that gets slightly lost in translation but whose meaning is clearly not complimentary to Tiger, she said: “In the quietest water swims the ugliest fish." She still found the extent of his premarital affairs shocking however.

“Something odd about him. If he just paid for the escorts, I understood it a bit more. Then no one needed to know. But now he did everything and had a girlfriend and everything,” she said. “What I do not understand is why he got married.”

Alfredsson also found Woods’ behavior towards women to be a bit “cold” given the circumstances he placed them in.

“When he says to the girl that he can not see her because he has family matters, when Elin will give birth, is he not a bit cold?” she asked in amazement.

Despite all of the controversy, she believes Woods can still return to golf in a similar way to Alex Rodriguez’s return to baseball -- as long as he remains a little more discreet this time around.

“Rodriguez said he somehow felt relieved when it came out because he knew he was a bad boy but someone still sat him on a pedestal to be so good and perfect,” Alfredsson surmised. “I do not know if Tiger would go so far as to say that he can be himself and do what he wants. If he dares to do it and ensure its internal, he can probably run and play.”
