Kanye West must be happy as Beyonce’s 10 Grammy nominations beat Taylor Swift’s eight nominations.  Maybe now Taylor won’t have to worry about Kanye interrupting her speech with his support of The Single Ladies singer.

The Grammy nominations were announced Wednesday night at a special live concert where the Black Eyed Peas played, and Maxwell performed The Lady in My Life as a tribute to Michael Jackson.  Ever the jokster, host George Lopez was announcing the Song of the Year and said Use Somebody, was by Tiger Woods, referencing the golfer’s recent cheating scandal.

The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye each received six nominations, and David Guetta, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga each received five Grammy nominations.  Best Rock Album nominations went to AC/DC, Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, Green Day, the Dave Matthews Band and U2.

The Grammy nominations afterparty Wednesday night atop the Nokia theatre was significantly less star studded than the concert. We know because RadarOnline.com scored an invite!

The show's host LL Cool J made all the ladies happy when he made an appearance at the rooftop bash.

Best rap nominee Drake also caused a stir when he stopped by to nosh on the Wolfgang Puck eats. "Everyone was crowding around him getting pictures and autographs, he definitely has a lot of female fans!"

Not quite as flirt inducing? Dwight Yokam. The two time Grammy winner hit the buffet line and chatted with friends -- no swooning ladies in sight.

The Grammy’s will air on January 31, 2010 on CBS.
