New Moon’s Taylor Lautner’s martial arts past was uncovered on Monday’s edition of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, as Conan played a clip of the very talented actor as a child, showing off his considerable jousting skills with a long metal stick.

Lautner’s flashy moves came as the result of years of honing his martial arts skills, as the hunky 17-year-old said he was devoted to learning the self-defense form from the age of 6-years-old until he hit his teens.
