Randy and Evi Quaid have signed a promise to appear in a Santa Barbara, California court next month after blowing off three earlier hearings in connection with charges they stiffed a inn in the California coastline town.
After the celebrity couple — who live in the small town of Marfa, Texas — each posted $20,000 in bail to a Santa Barbara bail bondsman on Thursday, bench warrants issued for their arrests were rescinded, officials said.
RadarOnline.com exclusively caught-up with the erratic couple Thursday in Marfa (pop. 2,400 people), but the Quaids remained tight-lipped about their legal situation.
Meanwhile, the locals are perplexed by the presence of the Kingpin star and his one-time runway model wife.
“Nobody seems to know what to make of them,” a local told RadarOnline.com. “Or why they have really come to Marfa in the first place.”
Marfa Sheriff Danny Dominguez told RadarOnline.com: “There have been no new developments with regard to the Santa Barbara case but we are aware of what is going-on. Once our counterparts contact us then we will be involved in the warrant process although the California officers will have to come here and take them back themselves. At the moment they are still part of our community in Marfa and that is all I am prepared to say just now.”
The couple is due back in court in Santa Barbara on December 15.
