There was, but he was a little smashed up after having a few drinks.

Shane West, who played Dr. Ray Barnett on NBC’s mega-hit hospital drama ER, needed some patching up when he tripped and fell on his face in his own backyard after having a few drinks, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Fresh from partying at Boulevard3 in Los Angeles and watching Katy Perry perform, the good doctor and some of his pals decided to take the party back to his house, an eyewitness told RadarOnline.com.

EYEWITNESS REPORT: Kirsten Dunst Stumbling Drunk

Shane had a few drinks at the club and continued drinking at home. So maybe it was the alcohol or a hole in the ground or an untied shoelace but before you could say, “What the hell is Jay Leno doing on every night at 10?” Shane was face down in his backyard. The faceplant left him black and blue and cut up in the middle of last week.

Poor Shane was so embarrassed he kept a low profile for the next several days. But he couldn’t hide for long because he had to fly out of the country to tour with his band The Germs.

We haven’t seen him since the accident but maybe the foreign audiences will think the bruises are just part of the punk rock band’s lifestyle!
